Xiaomi has unveiled the Mi 10,000mAh Power Bank in China, a newer and slimmer version of the company’s 10,400mAh Power Bank which was launched August 2014. The device is now available on the Mi website in red, silver and Champagne colour variants. It is priced at CNY 69 (approximately Rs 711). No details have been provided as to when this device will launch in India.
Xiaomi says, “We’ve just introduced our latest 10,000mAh Mi power bank that’s 21.4% slimmer and 30% more energy dense than the 10,400mAh version! This means it can fully charge a Mi Note 2.1x, and iPad 1x.”
According to the company, the high density batteries’ import value has been reduced by 21.4 percent. It is almost similar in size to a business card and has a 30 percent increase in energy density. In terms of dimensions, the Mi 10,000mAh power bank is 60.4mm-wide and weighs 207 grams. Similar to the previous Xiaomi power bank, the new device sports a micro-USB slot, a USB slot for 5.1V/2.1A output and also offers LED notification lights.
This would be the fourth power bank which has launched this month. Previously, Asus launched a ZenPower 10,050mAh power bank in India at Rs 1,499 and OnePlus launched a 10,000mAh Power Bank at Rs 1,399. Also, Alongside both devices, Huawei also introduced a power bank dubbed Honor AP007 which sports a 13000mAh battery and is priced at Rs 1399.
All the above devices are slightly costlier than the Xiaomi power bank though they all have similar battery capacity offerings. It’s extra-affordable price factor could give the Mi 10,000mAh power bank an added advantage over the others when it is launched in India.
